Just a teeny thank you to my mom - since she went SO MANY DAYS WITHOUT ANY THANKS during - pretty much - my entire childhood and even into young adulthood. And yes, now I know how it feels!
Hard to genuinely find ways to say thank you - with words - that reflect how very much I really mean it. You'll just have to believe me, mom.
Thank you for loving me despite my shortcomings, annoyances, mistakes and poor decisions, for accepting me through our differences, for supporting my parenting choices both right and wrong, for being there for the small things and the big things, for sacrificing more than I will ever know for MY good.
Thank you for teaching me never to wait on delivering a good word that someone - anyone, needs to hear, for appreciating money and the ability, skill and grace to go without, for introducing me to the wonder and enjoyment of performance arts, and to serve others with time and love and the very basics of who I am and what little I may have.
Thank you for all the things unseen that I will never know about. You have a servant's heart and an amazing aptitude for gift giving and because of all things you have done and naturally are I've always felt loved by you. I'm so grateful for YOU.
I love you, mom.
